Primal Time Viewing
Before you allow a serious relationship to proceed to the ultimate level of intimacy, both of you should be off Primal Time and have your watches synchronized for experiences beyond Mother Natureâs basic programming.
Love is the rickety rope bridge that carries us across the abyss from animal to human being. Ancient rites of passage performed by shamans had animals present to symbolize this distinction between humans and mindless animals. (We see the legacy of this every Christmas in the nativity. Can you imagine a nativity without animals?) Folk-tale and fairy-tale villains like the Big Bad Wolf are there to caution us about slipping back into our animalistic ways. Theyâre also metaphors for whatâs âout thereâ if we arenât mindful. The story of Beauty and the Beast has been traced back over four thousand years as a tale of how kindness and love overcome the half-animal manâqualities that return him to humanity. Like fairy tales, our most enduring stories have these common threads: the conflict of light and darkness, and how love and compassion win the day.
But just as itâs within all men to behave badly, itâs also within them to behave well, and ultimately, most men do make the right choice, as the answer to this next common question illustrates:
Common Question 3: âWhy, after a guy leaves a long-term relationship because of commitment issues, does he often end up quickly marrying the first girl he meets?â
Answer: Because the James Bond/playboy fantasy called him away. Then, when the harsh, contrasting reality of an empty single life and losing what he had hits home, he rushes back to the path he previously ran away fromâthe bittersweet path of love.
⢠⢠â¢
Every good story has villains because deep down we know that the reward tastes all the sweeter for adversity. Your story is no different. Well done for making it through the darkest part of our journey, for itâs always darkest before the dawn. Now, letâs go find your prince.
